Diamond
I would rather spend the following lines for a hint to the main protagonists of the jewelry.
Here are the diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds, precious gems that combined with a skilful human hand are really a work of art.
The diamond is considered a stone “PAR EXCELLENCE”. To tell the truth until the mid-century 19th diamonds were inserted very sparingly in the jewels. Then the discovery of several diamond mines in South Africa in 1870 made them much more abundant on the market and reduced costs.
So that the diamond has prevailed as the dominant bud creating a genuine market that still has no equal. This stone has been written so much and everything. What I want to emphasize is the way by which we evaluate a diamond.
There are three basic parameters: color, inclusion, cut.
In contrast to other gems, diamonds are valued based on the absence of color.
Are therefore called “white” but this term is subject to gradations.
The color of the diamonds is classified by comparing stone sample. The world system is based simply credited as the letters of the alphabet. Start with the “D” for the stones more white and gradually descends to “Z”. Stones classified by the letters D, E and F are considered white and it is interesting to see that the difference between them is so subtle as to be almost imperceptible to an untrained eye. With regard to inclusions, it is considered without a bud when examined with a lens magnification of ten is clean. They are classified IF, which is entirely free of inclusions.
The presence of tiny particles instead lowers the level of the stone VVS1 or 2. If the restriction is a little larger is classified to grade VS1 o2. With the symbol S1 is the presence of inclusions visible to the naked eye.
The cut is another important factor to consider when evaluating a diamond. Stone cutting “old” lower by at least 30 to 35% the value compared to actual size.
The brilliance of a diamond called “FIRE”, gives its best when the brilliant cut gem reaches a great “thinking” inside.
In words that might help you better understand, all the light that penetrates through the top, go and bounce on the facets are cut and pushed back, or just “reflection”. Here so that recreates a magical breakdown of colors and lights.
Among the precious colored gemstones rubies are certainly the most quoted, the quality is better than the Burmese ruby which is extracted still in a limited portion of that country.
As with rubies, sapphires also for the place of origin is of great importance for the evaluation. As Burma’s rubies in the region as the “Kashmir” is the sapphire. But it is undeniable that only a few stones of blue velvet and transparent medium are extracted from those fields.
Finally emeralds whose quality is better than colombiana.È them that come to light the most valuable pieces that are characterized by a beautiful color and rich grass called “lawn.” The emeralds are often composed of internal inclusions familiarly called garden.
That’s trying to draw a conclusion, perhaps repeating myself, I confirm that the foundation of a real jewel is compulsory quality materials. Gold, platinum and precious stones especially be of great quality. Yet without the creativity, talent and culture of the goldsmith, the jewel will never have an added value that makes it unique and down in time to witness a story that will never be forgotten.
